So...I just watched some of the performances at the AMA's that I didn't see. I missed like half of them, haha. And the one that really bothered me was Adam Lambert or "Glambert" Does anyone else have a problem with thisw guy? I mean..he has a superb voice...but other than that...he's atrocious. Did anyone SEE his performance? It disgusted me...
I mean, one can say I am being hypocritical, because I have liked past performances that include half naked people. But I think he took it over the top. It's one thing for him to do it at a concert, I feel it is another to do it on TV where children are going to watch the show. He had men in sort of bondage devices, he humped a bunch of people's faces, made out with his male guitarist. His song's lyrics were pretty much about having intense, rough sex with someone.
I'm all about equality, everyone should know that. I'm a proud lesbian, and I want there to be equality. But this guy, in my opinion, just gives a TERRIBLE face to the gay community. I mean, he is being attacked by the gay community, but at the same time, the community is trying to draw him in to be a face for them, and that is sickening to me. In all honesty, I blame people like him for why people are afraid to give gays certain rights. People outside of the community look in and see people like him, and the people like him that go naked to gay pride parades and they're just thinking, "Those f*aggots are just a bunch of candy a*s' strutting around in their underwear having promiscuous sex on the side of the road spreading HIV, and I don't want my kids to see that or be like that. This is animalistic." I mean, I have heard people say stuff like that because they see so many like "Glambert".
He's gay, we get it. He doesn't need to have men with their junk hanging out, humping their faces and making out with them...I don't want to see that. Even if it was a female artist...I don't want to see it. I mean...there is no art behind that. That is just him trying to show people how gay he is and how "original" he is, and he's a "shock" artist. There's nothing shocking about it...it's just obscene and gross..
So, what does everyone think about him and his performance? People like him?
